Description
Designed by William F. Lamb of Shreve, Lamb and Harmon, this Art Deco New York City Landmark completed in 1931 and was the tallest building in the world for nearly 40 years. It was built by the Starrett Brothers construction company in just 410 days, and featured a docking station at the top to allow embarking and disembarking from dirigibles. It is on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
